Its only about 2 months after the trip has ended, but better late than never I suppose.
So it was a long time coming, a road trip for vacation and college visits for Mackenzie. It seemed like we just did the same for Joel.
We set it on Mckenzie to select some schools she would like to visit and potentially would want to attend. She selected North Carolina at Chapel Hill and University of South Carolina- Columbia. With the schools set and the reservations made, I went about finalizing the travel itinerary.
Not exactly sure how I talk myself into these road trips. We left Saturday and did about 650 miles and made it to Charleston West Virginia. An interesting, old little town with a quaint downtown. We stopped for pizza. The place Pies and Pints, has some incredible and interesting pizzas. With eyes bigger than our stomachs we ordered a large pizza one half was:
CHICKEN GOUDA Marinated grilled chicken, applewood smoked bacon, smoked Gouda, red onions, chipotle crema & scallions
and the other half
SRIRACHA SHRIMP Sriracha marinated shrimp, fresh garlic, red onions, fresh pineapple, scallions, basil, mint, cilantro & sriracha aioli
Throw in some good beers and it was an outstanding dinner and evening. We the walked around downtown for a bit before we headed to the hotel.
