Monday May 18th

We did a little of everything.  I did forget to mention that we did walk to the little grocery store about a half mile away to stock up our little kitchen.  Not the greatest stores but it serviced.  Until the plastic holding the 8 litres of water bottles broke.  I improvised, tucked in my shirt and stuffed 5 bottles in between that shirt and my t-shirt.  Quite funny but it worked.

We also learned that there is a public bus that runs every 45 seconds (or it seems) up and down the hotel corridor and into downtown itself.  For 10.50 per person.  That's pesos. or about .80 in US dollars.

The whole pesos thing throws you off at first.  A box of cereal for $48?  What?  A burger for $120?  the exchange rate was between 14 and 15 pesos to US Dollars.  So that cereal a bit over $3 that burger about $8.

Anyway we took the bus for a little ride into the heart of the hotel zone in Cancun.  More shopping, nightclubs, restaurants and a Chedraui.  An upscale grocery and convenience store.  Way better than the other place we were at.  They actually had 2 floors to this place.

We grabbed some more items and took the bus back to the hotel.
