Well this is it, the last day.
We were up and out of the hotel before 9. Went to the university to get a bagel sandwich breakfast at bagel talk. Super yummy breakfast sandwiches for sure. One of Joel's favorite freshman spots for breakfast.
When that was done we walked a round the edge of the campus a bit more, but being a Sunday little was open yet. Not much else to do and Joel wanted some time to settle in and do a book run etc. without the tag alongs. We drove Joel to his apartment and began the sad hugs and teary goodbyes as we leave him to start his 3rd year.
It doesn't get easier, but it is easier to know that unlike that first year, he's confident and knows what is going on. He has good room mates and we know its easier for him than us for sure.
We head back to Phoenix. All earlier flights are sold out so no getting home any earlier. We hit a mall, because at 106° in Phoenix I don't want to be outside. Amazing there is 10-15° degrees difference between here and Tucson. Amazing what a few thousand feet of extra elevation do for temperatures.
Eventually we drop the car off, check our bags and find that our flight is already delayed. Yep, king of delays. Thats me.
