I figured I would keep the travel blog running with all trips not just meld them into the main blog.
Luck would have it that Hurricane Sandy preempted my original trip to New York back in November. The rescheduled meeting was set for December 17th. Wow, how perfect is that. Nothing like New York around the holidays. Booked Tracy's flight and an extra night of hotel stay. The hotel for some inexplicable reason was 200.00 a night cheaper than it was in November. One would think that the holiday would increase the price not decrease the price. Hey I am not complaining. $239 a night in a midtown/Times Square hotel at any time of the year is a deal.
I had a 2:00 pm meeting so we had an early morning flight that would get us in at 9:15. That means getting up and out of the door around 4:15 for that 6:00 am flight. Well as typical with me and flights, it was cancelled, after we got to the airport. Mechanical issues. No problem, we will just get on another flight and be about an hour later. Except the fog in NY was making matters worse. Needless to say we did not get into the airport until almost 1:45 PM. Remember that part about my 2:00 meeting. Well a quick cab ride to the hotel a quick change into my business attire (I was wearing comfy travel clothes) and off to my meeting. Only an hour late. Good thing it was a 2 hour meeting.
I left Tracy to her own accord that night as my colleagues and I entertained the client for dinner. 6 People, over $800.00 for dinner.
