Sitting at the airport - vacation is now over. 1:03 in WI. We don't leave for another 1:30. More updates after I get home and sleep.

NC/SC Vacation Day 8

The last day. We leave the hotel in Cherokee and head to Pigeon Forge, the Wisconsin Dells of the South. We breakfast and did a few laps on some go karts. The original plan was to go do some ziplining, but we couldn't get in until mid afternoon and that was going to be too late for us to make it home in one shot. We had fun but were all looking forward to get home. I put the pedal to metal and we got home about 12 hours later. Almost 800 miles in for the day. It was week was great, with a lot of quality time with my two favorite girls. Yea this is why I talk myself into these road trips.

It's the Empire State for a reason

Here is a first for me, and not a first for Tracy. Since the clouds left and the temperature was rising we said hey lets do the Observation deck of the Empire state building. After several queues, security checkpoints and a few elevators we arrive. Not much to say, I will just let the pictures do the talking. Check the album link on the right of the blog.

Day 4

Sorry having way too much fun to keep up with the blogging. Well I met Joel at Bagel Talk around 7:00. Although he did not know I was going to do that. It was before his 8:00 Calculus final and I thought I could give him some final encouragement. Well he nervously ate his breakfast bagel. His favorite. Bagel, Egg, Sausage maple cream cheese. Call it the French toast. I remember it's one of the first places he ate at and told me about during his first few weeks at school. Now he was having his last one of the year. I had eaten with him here during my impromptu September visit then again for Parents Weekend. Now the last day of school for him. Kind of like those first and last days of school for a kindergarten. Only 15 years later. Man I feel so old. I walked him to the building and we hugged as he went to face his final and worse subject. How horrible is that? ...
