As our time here runs down, we are also slowing down as well. Today was no different. We had a light breakfast and then hit the pool area for a few hours.
You can tell the weekend is here because the pool has so many more people than it did mid week. I mean exponentially more people. From a max of 12 around the pool on Wednesday to well over 50 on Saturday. Even though we got to the pool around 11:00 we were still able to get some good seats with a combination of sun and shade.
For dinner we headed downtown for a nice little restaurant called the HUB. Good food, they also have their own ice cream they make. Incredible flavors and quality. After dinner we intended on going to the Borderland Brewpub to sample a few drinks and play bags like we did last year, but they seem to have grown in popularity and they also had a band. So we walked in saw it was really crowded and left. Not a big deal, but a completely different experience from last time we were here.
We got back to the hotel around 6:45. Just in time to see the sun set on a little walkout the hotel fittingly called sunset point. We could see the sunset every night from the hotel room but this afforded a completely unobstructed view of the area and sunset.
We goofed around took some pictures and headed back.

The neat thing about having the higher traffic on the weekends here; the hotel has plenty of activities for folks to do things. Movie at the pool, tastings and games. This time they had a few telescopes during the day. Yes the day, and we looked right into the sun! Got to see sun spots on the sun and in the other scope we got to see actual solar flares around the outside of the sun. I love this stuff, so I was completely awed. The guy who did this then was back at 8:00pm with a different telescope. We looked at deep space opbjects and star clusters. Amazing. Things you could not see in the sky, where the scope appeared to be pointed into darkness were sets of stars that were shaped like an owl (8000 light years away) as well as other shapes and constellations. We even got a glimpse of the Andromeda galaxy, which is 2.5 Million light years away. That means the light we were seeing from these stars was given off when the dinosaurs were on the earth. It took 2.5 million years for it to reach us. Mind=Blown. We hung out here for at least an hour and then when the show started repeating we headed in. Such an excellent finish to the day.
