1400 Miles under the belt! What a full day!
Left Wichita around 7:30 and that was almost right on time. Long drives through Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. Although we were on the road for 2 and 1/2 hours less than yesterday.
Saw some huge cattle 'facilities' seriously, almost wanted to give up meat seeing that. Look in the pictures you fill find the thousands of cattle being penned waiting for who knows what....
Tucumcari was a let down. Sure we drove on historic Route 66 (and continued to do so into Alburquerque) saw some old, interesting signs, but it was not nearly what I expected.
Some really flat boring landscape gave way to scrub brush and the pine trees as the elevation crept to over 7000ft.
We hit Alburquerque around 4:15. Skipped the sky tram and instead walked to Old Town. A cool place of galleries, shops and restaurants.
Dinner was a event. Completely new owners of this Mexican restaurant. Started out out well enough but went straight downhill. Returned a dish for something else because it was bad, out of nowhere music blares and they can't shut it off. Hilarity ensues, ok not really.
Wind picked up on the walk home and it got quite chilly. Dropped Kiki off at the hotel and Tracy and I caught some live music and had a few drinks at Marble Brewing.
I am staying up way too late to write this post and will finish it in a few days when relaxing pool side in Tucson. Speaking of which, we should arrive there tomorrow around 2:30 PM.
